The Sweet Gestures Meme

the sweet gestures meme
Everyone loves sweet gestures—little things that remind someone that you love them, that you think of them, that you care for their general, and other things. A gesture could be made towards a friend, a family member, or some other loved one. Maybe towards a total stranger you think deserves something to make them smile.
prompts
1. LOVE NOTES ❤ Everyone loves love notes, and they don’t even have to be romantic. It could be simple as ‘have a good day at work’ or even something funny to brighten someone’s day.
2. BREAKFAST IN BED ❤ Especially on a Sunday morning or after a long, late shift at work, breakfast in bed with their favorite foods is surely the way to start the day off right.
3. PHONE CALL ❤ Who doesn’t like a phone call from someone they love, for no reason? A nice conversation can be all someone needs to have a better day or make a good day be a great one.
4. SWEET TREAT ❤ Late at night when you’re both tired from work or just general day-to-day things, something sweet from the local bakery can be just the thing you need.
5. MASSAGE ❤ While a wonderful idea, swapping massages can be a good idea too, or doing it after a nice bubble bath you made for them, or just randomly.
6. RANDOM HUG ❤ Even if they are not having a bad day, how could a hug not bring a smile to someone’s face?
7. SMALL GIFT ❤ It could be a piece of jewelry that caught your eye and reminded you of them, a stuffed animal you won at the carnival… just something small and sweet that you are sure they are going to love no matter how cheap or expensive it is.
8. FLOWERS ❤ From a florist or from a random patch of green, the surprise of flowers for someone you know and/or love is always welcomed! Look into their meanings to make the bouquet, big or small, become extra special.
9. RENT A MOVIE ❤ Sure, you might not like the genre of the movie, but if the other person does, then that is all that matters.
10. SLOW DANCE ❤ Middle of the living room, randomly while on a date, or maybe that is the whole purpose of the date. Slow dances are so underrated.
11. SURPRISE GETAWAY ❤ Yes, that is just what you guys need: a vacation from things, even if it’s just for a day or two and is not half way across the world. From a family vacation to a romantic spur of the moment, everyone loves going to a new place.
12. SURPRISE KISS ❤ Who doesn’t like a surprise kiss? A soft one on the cheek, a kiss being the thing to wake you up in the morning, or a big one right when you walk through the door.
13. HOLD HANDS ❤ There is nothing like holding hands. It’s a simple and intimate gesture, and if you do it the right way, it could have a whole different meaning.
14. COOK DINNER ❤ Come on, give it a go. Who cares if you’re not the best cook in the world or possibly the worst? It’s the thought that counts.
15. WILD CARD ❤ Was there something missed? Did you have another scene in mind? Want to roll again?

He remembered lots of camera flashes, during the show as well as the long, tedious lines where he stood and held crying babies and let girls kiss him on the cheek while the cameras went off, and said ruefully, "Oh... I'm sure there are, somewhere. If you're really lucky, there's probably some film footage, too." He wasn't expecting to be lucky enough that any there might have been would've been tossed by now, anyway. "I'm sure some of the other promotional films I made survived somewhere, anyway."
Only after he said it did he realize the ammunition he'd just given Rogue, and got a frantic look on his face.
no subject
Her eyes lit up when he mentioned the film footage, and especially the promotional ones that very likely were still in existence somewhere. Especially with the new hype surrounding his alter ego, restored copies of that old footage were bound to be surfacing on the internet now. Leaning over to press a kiss to his cheek, she gave his knee a gentle pat with her hand and assured him, "Don't worry, I won't make you watch them with me." But he could bet she'd be watching them herself.
no subject
"Oh, God," he groaned, now imagining her watching something he'd done and laughing at it. "It was ridiculous," he tried explaining to her. "The acting - well, there wasn't really any acting, it was just reciting lines and trying to look like we had any idea what being in war was really like. It was awful." He could not emphasize enough how truly bad it was.
no subject
"Oh, sugar. No one over here knew what war was really like, it had been so long since we'd really been in one. And that war was... There were so many things that no one knew about until later." Things that she remembered. "Here in the US, we're so far away from everyone else that we forget to pay attention to anything beyond our own borders, even now with people all over like they are. I guess... What I'm trying to say, sugar, is that you shouldn't be embarrassed or ashamed by that. You were trying to help in any way you could, everyone was, and honestly I don't think most people could stand knowing what war's really like."
Her message had taken a darker turn than she'd intended starting out, but she believed everything she'd said. It was hard to know if it would have any impact on how he felt about things, but she couldn't have just let things sit like that.

Steve slipped his arm around Rogue's waist and leaned against her. "Yeah, you're right. Doesn't make it less embarrassing," he added ruefully, "but it does help. You're a very smart lady. Gonna have to keep you around, I think," he teased.
no subject
"I sure hope so," she told him with an affectionate smile. Moving the hand on his knee to his shoulder, she lifted her legs to swing them over his lap, her skirt draping down to shield his lap and anything that might result from the kiss she was about to give him. It wasn't full of fiery passion, but rather deep fondness and adoration, and of course love.
no subject
Steve had just enough time to realize what she was doing, and start to protest, "Rogue─" before he had a lapful of petite brunette and his mouth was otherwise occupied. He didn't try to pull back or stop her, though, instead sighing into the kiss and relaxing, his arms wrapping under her arms and around her back, holding her to him, kissing her slow and deep, letting it simmer and slowly build. Without conscious direction, his hand began sliding down her back, to rest at the curve of her hips, pulling her incrementally closer to him. She'd certainly be able to feel how the kiss was starting to affect him.
no subject
Melting into the kiss, Rogue's sigh of contentment quickly turned into a quiet moan of pleasure. She could spend hours on that bench, kissing Steve, and not tire of it for a single second. Her arms tightened around him as she pulled herself just the tiniest bit closer.
no subject
Steve had seen plenty of fireworks displays in his life. Sure, it was tradition to watch them on his birthday; but he'd never had sex before, and with Rogue in his arms and his lap and obviously more than willing, he knew if he had to make a choice, it wasn't gonna be fireworks.
They could always watch them next year.
no subject
Pulling back from the kiss, she slid her hands up to cup his jaw and shook her head just a little. "It's still hours before they start," she pointed out quietly. "We can try to take a break later to catch them."
'Try' being the optimal word, of course.
no subject
Resting his head for just a moment on Rogue's shoulder, he tried to get his brain back in working order. So, they were definitely doing this, then. Which meant... leaving the park, right. "Okay." He pulled back to look at Rogue, watching her reaction, just to make sure. "My place?"
no subject
While his head was on her shoulder, she smoothed a hand across his back, and smiled when he asked for her confirmation. "Your place," she echoed before her smile turned a little mischievous. "Are you okay to drive?" And she wiggled just a little on his lap to indicate what she meant.
no subject
When she wiggled in his lap, Steve bit back another groan, his hands tightening on her hips to keep her immobile. "Please!--don't do that." He huffed a little. "I can drive," he said, a little defensively. Then he admitted, "It'll either be really painful... or it'll help take the edge off." On long drives, he'd gotten hard just from the rumble of the engine, but it wasn't that far to his apartment, it might not be so bad.
....he could be wrong, though.
no subject
It was hard not to laugh at his defensiveness, he was too darn cute when he got all huffy like that. She pressed a kiss to his cheek and grinned. "It's a good thing you live around here, then," she teased him gently before carefully moving to slide off his lap.
no subject
Sighing, probably more heavily than the situation warranted, Steve grabbed the blanket, then glanced over to where Rogue was picking up the basket. Turn about was fair play, he figured, and she hadn't seemed to mind the last time he'd picked her up...
Steve moved towards her, and in one smooth motion, ducked at the waist, dropped his shoulder, wrapped his arms around Rogue's thighs, and stood back up again, all without losing a step. The basket thumped against his backside, but he didn't let it stop him, just kept striding purposefully toward the entrance of the park where he'd stashed his bike. "Yep," he responded, sounding nonchalant, but rather chipper all of a sudden. "It's a very good thing."
no subject
Rogue was not at all expecting Steve to suddenly sweep her up and toss her over his shoulder like a sack of potatoes. He did it more gently than that, thankfully, but she still let out a squeak of surprise as she was suddenly looking at a very different (but just as delicious) side of Steve. And when she heard that chipper voice of his, she couldn't stop the joyous laughter that burst out of her. How had she been lucky enough to end up with such an adorable, incorrigible dork?
no subject
Of course, they passed quite a few people on the sidewalk, and while many ignored them completely, there were some who got sly, knowing smiles on their faces as they watched him cart Rogue along. Steve just nodded his head politely to them, as if this entire situation were normal for him, and it wasn't at all unusual to have a beautiful gal slung over his shoulder on a busy sidewalk.
Still, the sooner they could get to the privacy of his apartment, the better. Once he'd reached his bike, Steve bent and settled Rogue on the pavement, unable to quite resist letting his hands slide from her thighs up to her waist as he straightened back up. He fished out the keys from his pocket with one hand, while he grabbed the helmet with the other and handed it to her.
no subject
Rogue very nearly latched onto him again when he trailed his hands over her, but with a great deal of willpower she managed to instead focus on taking the helmet and securing their things to the bike. She'd enjoyed their time playing in the sun together, but she was going to enjoy the next part of their day even more, and she was eager to get behind those closed doors and away from prying eyes.
As soon as he sat, she was sliding in right behind him, pressing her body against his as much as she possibly could while still leaving him able to drive. She had to be that close to him, and it had very little to do with safety.
no subject
The drive seemed to last an age, but also seemed to go by in the blink of an eye. He wasn't drawing it out this time just to enjoy the feel of Rogue pressed against him - he was trying to make it as quick as possible... to enjoy the feel of Rogue, pressed against him. No, don't think about that yet, he admonished himself.
Thankfully, he'd been right, and by the time they reached his building and he was able to park, his body had settled down somewhat. Steve knew it was just a temporary reprieve, though, and as soon as they started up again, he'd be ready to go. It felt rather like his body understood that there was a time and a place for that, and it was just waiting for the right opportunity.
no subject
It took a great deal of effort to climb off that bike and put those inches of space back between herself and Steve. She had to force herself to remove the helmet and retrieve their belongings, but she didn't even try to hide the longing and desire in her expression when she looked at him. She couldn't have.
no subject
Living on the third floor had never bothered him before; he'd never noticed just how many stairs there were. Why was there no elevator in this building? No, an elevator might be worse, because then they'd end up making out in there - which sounded fun, but might make them slower to actually arriving at his apartment. Steve was a goal-oriented kind of person, and right now, he had a very specific goal in mind. (Getting naked. No! Stop thinking about it yet!)
The apartment was just the way he'd left it, and normally Steve would at least point out a few things to Rogue - the good-sized kitchenette/prep area, with the island that doubled as a small seating bar, adjacent to the deep, comfortable chambray blue couch that could fit even his six-foot-tall body, with the coffee table and (rarely used) television in front of it. The tall East-facing windows behind the couch that spanned almost the whole wall, in front of which he'd set up another table to eat at. (He rarely ate there, occasionally using his laptop there, but normally it was piled with papers; he'd cleaned yesterday when Rogue coming in was just a hopeful thought, and not the inevitability it had turned into.)
But now, he barely had the presence of mind to think Food. We've got food that should be put away. And then thought Screw it, it'll keep in the cooler for a couple hours.
no subject
Each step seemed like a mountain until they reached Steve's floor, and Rogue's grip on his hand tightened just a little as he unlocked the door. Nervousness was beginning to settle in at the back of her mind, the realization of what was finally about to happen drifting through her thoughts.
When they got inside, Rogue spared a few seconds to actually look away, vaguely noticing the kitchenette that would be lovely to cook in, and the windows that she would enjoy looking out at all hours of the day. She did make note of the couch that appeared quite comfortable (for sitting as well as other activities), but that was all she could manage before she had to look up at Steve again.
They were inside now. There was a door between them and those prying eyes, and nothing stopping them from doing what they really wanted. She bent down slightly to set their things on the floor, and when she straightened up again her hands went to his chest, sliding up until she could wrap her arms around his neck. "Kiss me?" It was a quiet request, one more chance for him to decide against their present course of action, but lord she hoped he didn't take it.
no subject
Settling his hands on Rogue's hips, he leaned in, but stopped short of actually kissing her. "I think," he murmured, "that if I kiss you now... we aren't going to make it to the bedroom. It's a nice bedroom," he continued in a soothing voice. "It's got a very big bed. Much comfier than the door... or the couch, even."
Apparently, his lust-addled brain still had a shred of decorum left. He didn't care where they had sex - later; but now, this first time, he definitely wanted it to be on a bed.
no subject
She shivered slightly from the base of her spine on up, and slid her hands back down his chest, though she didn't pull them away. "Then you'd better lead the way, handsome," she informed him in a low, sultry voice. "It's not polite to keep a lady waiting."
no subject
The corner bedroom, which was probably actually supposed to be the master bedroom, was now his artist's study. Turning right, Steve pushed open his bedroom door, leading Rogue in. His stomach tightened with nerves, because this was it. They'd been discussing it, anticipating it, but this was really it. It was a little daunting.
But that had never stopped him before. One final step and they were next to the bed, and Steve finally let his excitement take hold, pulling Rogue against him and kissing her, softly, but very passionately.
