The Sweet Gestures Meme

the sweet gestures meme
Everyone loves sweet gestures—little things that remind someone that you love them, that you think of them, that you care for their general, and other things. A gesture could be made towards a friend, a family member, or some other loved one. Maybe towards a total stranger you think deserves something to make them smile.
prompts
1. LOVE NOTES ❤ Everyone loves love notes, and they don’t even have to be romantic. It could be simple as ‘have a good day at work’ or even something funny to brighten someone’s day.
2. BREAKFAST IN BED ❤ Especially on a Sunday morning or after a long, late shift at work, breakfast in bed with their favorite foods is surely the way to start the day off right.
3. PHONE CALL ❤ Who doesn’t like a phone call from someone they love, for no reason? A nice conversation can be all someone needs to have a better day or make a good day be a great one.
4. SWEET TREAT ❤ Late at night when you’re both tired from work or just general day-to-day things, something sweet from the local bakery can be just the thing you need.
5. MASSAGE ❤ While a wonderful idea, swapping massages can be a good idea too, or doing it after a nice bubble bath you made for them, or just randomly.
6. RANDOM HUG ❤ Even if they are not having a bad day, how could a hug not bring a smile to someone’s face?
7. SMALL GIFT ❤ It could be a piece of jewelry that caught your eye and reminded you of them, a stuffed animal you won at the carnival… just something small and sweet that you are sure they are going to love no matter how cheap or expensive it is.
8. FLOWERS ❤ From a florist or from a random patch of green, the surprise of flowers for someone you know and/or love is always welcomed! Look into their meanings to make the bouquet, big or small, become extra special.
9. RENT A MOVIE ❤ Sure, you might not like the genre of the movie, but if the other person does, then that is all that matters.
10. SLOW DANCE ❤ Middle of the living room, randomly while on a date, or maybe that is the whole purpose of the date. Slow dances are so underrated.
11. SURPRISE GETAWAY ❤ Yes, that is just what you guys need: a vacation from things, even if it’s just for a day or two and is not half way across the world. From a family vacation to a romantic spur of the moment, everyone loves going to a new place.
12. SURPRISE KISS ❤ Who doesn’t like a surprise kiss? A soft one on the cheek, a kiss being the thing to wake you up in the morning, or a big one right when you walk through the door.
13. HOLD HANDS ❤ There is nothing like holding hands. It’s a simple and intimate gesture, and if you do it the right way, it could have a whole different meaning.
14. COOK DINNER ❤ Come on, give it a go. Who cares if you’re not the best cook in the world or possibly the worst? It’s the thought that counts.
15. WILD CARD ❤ Was there something missed? Did you have another scene in mind? Want to roll again?

Trying to give Rogue what she seemed to want, what they both wanted, really, while still maintaining some control, Steve moved one of his hands down to cup her bottom, pulling her hips up slightly and lengthening his strokes before driving back into her. With the change in the angle of her body, Steve lost his spot on her neck, but he just moved down along her throat, nipping and sucking and scraping his teeth lightly along her skin, pausing at her collarbone; it was there, pale and prominent and just wanting for attention.
no subject
She tilted her head to give him better access as he left more kisses down her throat. It would be amusing to have to cover them up with makeup when she went out; it was like a rite of passage that she was finally getting to experience after seeing so many of her friends go through it in their younger years. She and Steve certainly were like too randy teenagers, and who knew when or if it would ever fade.
That burning pressure was building inside her, threatening to consume her completely, and it wasn't more than a minute later that she was on the egde, so very close. "Oh lord," she breathed, finally managed to get hold of her voice for at least a moment or two, though the words were squeezed out between what were almost keening, pleading sounds now. "Steve. Steve, I- I love you." It had to be said. She wanted to say it a thousand times, to ingrain the sound of it in his thoughts. Because it was true, and she would tell him every day for the rest of their lives.
no subject
Steve listened to the noises Rogue made, hearing them change pitch as she got closer to her release, his own breath coming in pants and occasional whining moans. He was getting closer too, but he was going to make sure Rogue came first; his control slipping slightly, his hand clenched where he held her buttocks, leaving what would eventually be spectacular finger-shaped bruises, that he'd both feel guilty about, and be vaguely fascinated by, in a horrible sort of way.
And then she said his name, and said she loved him, and all Steve's well-meaning intentions went right out the window. He gasped, grunting slightly as his orgasm shot through him, his hips snapping forward in jerky, uncoordinated movements, clutching her lower body against him and grinding into her, before his muscles slowly started to relax.
no subject
The force of Steve's release shot through her, triggering her own orgasm that had her practically shouting with the sudden burst of pleasure. Her body shook and her arms wrapped around him, fingers digging into his shoulders with what would have been bruising force on anyone else. Her muscles still trembled slightly as they eventually began to relax, and despite her labored breathing she had to tug him down to her for a peppering of kisses - on his lips, cheek, jaw, anywhere she could reach.
no subject
"I love you," he murmured between slow kisses.
no subject
"I love you too," she murmured, sharing another few kisses before scooting down a little so she could lean her head against his chest, tucked under his chin. "I can't feel my toes yet," she confessed with a quiet giggle.
no subject
"That's probably not a good thing," he teased, "but I'm taking it as a compliment, anyway." He pressed a kiss to the top of her hair, shifting so he could stretch out a little better, settling Rogue on his chest some more.
no subject
"It's a very good thing, you should be proud of yourself," she assured him, snuggling in like he was her own giant teddy bear. "For someone who's never done this before, you're doing really well."
no subject
He'd grown still, as he thought about all that, though. Rousing himself a little from his musings, he told Rogue, "I think I want to take you dancing. I don't... really know how, but I want to learn. With you."
no subject
Pulling back a little so she could look up at him, her cheeks almost hurt from how bright her smile was as she told him, "I'd love to go dancing with you, Steve. Dancing's always been one of my favorite things, and I'd be happy to teach you how if you like. Or I could find a class for you, or we could even take one together, there are all kinds of things for couples these days."
no subject
The idea struck him, then, that that's what they were: a couple. He'd been so elated to find someone he could be with, even with all the ups and downs of the last few days, he'd only been thinking about 'I have Rogue now.' While he knew that the converse was true, that she definitely had him, and even though he'd thought about how they had each other to lean on, he'd never parsed it down to that one, all-encompassing word, couple.
It just seemed more... long-term than saying you were just going with someone. A couple, in his time and to his way of thinking, were people who would almost inevitably get married. He knew nothing was for certain, for anybody, and it was too soon to really think about it seriously, and definitely too soon to say anything... But it was there now, sitting at the back of his mind, the idea. A real, tangible idea of forever.
And then he remembered that she'd already been married. So she wouldn't necessarily be opposed to the idea, if he brought it up in the future, like he'd learned some women were in this day... But would she want to get married again? He didn't have the details, but he was pretty sure he had guessed correctly what had happened to her first husband, Remy. Would she even consider getting married to another man who went out and risked his life when people needed protecting?
It was something he would have to think about. But not right now. Right now, he pushed the thoughts to a small corner of his mind, to be mulled over in private, and leaned in for another kiss.
no subject
Not that was expecting to share everything with Steve that she had with Remy. That would be both silly and unfair for him, and she really did want them to have their own shared experiences. Teaching Steve would make the whole thing different right off the bat, though - she could teach him a few basics, and then if he wanted to learn a particular dance, perhaps from his era, they could certainly do that. Really, she'd love that.
Returning the kiss with affection, Rogue lost herself in the feeling of that kiss, in the taste of Steve, and she'd have been perfectly content to stay there on the couch for hours with him. Her stomach had other plans, though, which it made abundantly clear with a return of its earlier rumbling. They hadn't quite gotten to those sandwiches, had they?
no subject
He knew they'd end up doing a lot of things she and Remy had done, just by virtue of the fact it was the same type of relationship: romantic, and heartfelt. That didn't mean she'd be comparing them, and he wasn't going to worry even if something they did together did remind her of her last relationship; things they'd said and done reminded him of Peggy, it was natural to be reminded of the past. It was getting trapped there that he didn't want, and he knew Rogue would always pull him back out.
Pulling away from the kiss at the sound of her stomach reminding them both that they hadn't eaten, Steve couldn't help but smile. They'd worked up even more of an appetite now, and he was glad he'd had the foresight to pick up the cutting board with the sandwiches before moving to the couch, because he certainly didn't want to get up at the moment. "We've got sandwiches," he reminded her, nodding over toward the table.
no subject
Groaning a little, she hid her face against his shoulder. "I know," she admitted quietly, wishing she didn't have to approach the subject at hand, but feeling that she should. "I know I need to eat something, I know that I'm hungry, but I don't feel it. I don't really have much appetite, and I have to force myself to eat most days. Even chewing feels weird sometimes."
It wasn't the most pleasant subject, when you thought about just how she'd gotten to that point. She didn't want to spell it out completely, it was too... But she would if Steve asked. She would always tell him anything he wanted to know about her past if he asked her.
no subject
"When I was younger... I had diabetes. From what I understand, how they handle it is a lot more sophisticated now. But back then, they basically told you to starve yourself, at most you could eat oatmeal or serafina. It'd get to the point it didn't matter if you were hungry, because the stuff you had to eat wasn't appetizing, and it started to just... What was the point? So... I don't really understand, not exactly, but I do know, I want you to keep your strength up, an' the only way I know how to do that, is if you eat something. At the moment, we have sandwiches..." he nodded over toward the door, where the bright stars-and-stripes cooler sat, abandoned and all-but forgotten. "Or we have cupcakes. I'll eat whichever you want."
no subject
No, it wasn't quite the same, but she was still grateful that Steve had shared that bit of his past with her. It meant a lot. "You're so incredibly sweet," she told him softly, pressing a kiss to his shoulder. "I'll have a sandwich, it's better for me. But maybe I'll reward myself with a chocolate cupcake, as well."
no subject
Keeping the conversation light, he said "Sugar is always a good reward for something. I have kind of a sweet tooth, but... I still don't like a lot of it. I just grew up being worried about eating too much, or having it basically forced down my throat when I bottomed out, so... It's kind of a love/hate relationship, for me."
Pressing another quick kiss to Rogue's forehead, Steve started to pull his arm out from under her to sit up - and realized to his embarrassment that his pants were still shoved down almost to his knees.
no subject
She started to sit up as well before noticing the same thing, as well as the state of her own dress - high up on her hips, exposing quite a lot of her lower half, and her underwear still hooked around one ankle. It was so awkward and embarrassing that she found it a bit hysterical. "We are a mess," she commented with a laugh, running a hand over her face before sitting up properly on the edge of the cushion and tugging at her dress to get it back into place, followed by pulling her underwear up.
no subject
Reaching out, he picked up a couple sandwiches; pastrami with mustard for himself, and roast beef with butter for Rogue, and handed that one to her. If she wasn't really used to eating, he wasn't sure if strongly-flavored foods would be something she'd want to eat, especially if she didn't feel like eating now. He'd just started making the sandwiches earlier, hadn't even thought to ask her for any preferences - not that he had a lot to choose from, anyway. He'd have to speak up next time, ask her what she wanted. He really wasn't doing all that well with the little, every-day things required for a, a couple.
But he knew eventually, he wouldn't have to ask her, he'd already know what she preferred eating, what she liked to do... It was a learning curve, just like the rest of the affair. He just hated having to play catch-up; he wanted to already know.
no subject
Grinning herself at that look of his that really did speak to a mischievous nature, she accepted the sandwich without hesitation and immediately took a small bite. She wasn't a very picky eater, though of course she had personal preferences, but after a childhood spent in foster care and almost a decade of war, she really would eat just about anything to survive. The roast beef sandwich was pretty good, though, and she have Steve a smile of appreciation as she carefully chewed, making sure to almost count the number of times before she swallowed and took another bite.
She didn't think Steve was doing poorly with any aspect of their relationship thus far. In fact, he was doing extremely well for someone to whom all of this was brand new. She worried about messing things up herself, though, and rather badly at that. It was something she'd struggled with all her life, thinking she wasn't good enough or would ruin the good things she had, and she knew it was going to take a great deal of work to get out of that mindset in this relationship. It certainly had with Remy.
"Do you mind if I borrow some of your clothes tonight?" she asked after the second bite; her mind was wandering all over the place, so the question probably seemed to have come out of the blue. But while she'd planned ahead on a lot of things for their birthday date, that particular factor hadn't been taken into account. Oops.
no subject
The question about clothes was a little out of left-field, but not too surprising, considering it was getting late, and they'd probably go to bed not long after they ate. Plus, the state of their current clothes really left something to be desired, after their lovemaking on the couch. But it was the idea, combined with the mental image, of Rogue wearing one of his button-downs, or even one of his undershirts, that made Steve freeze, his jaw snapping shut on a bite of sandwich. That was... "Uhhmm," he quickly closed his mouth and swallowed, before food started falling out, cleared his throat, and tried again. "Yeah. Yes. You can-- sure, borrow some clothes. That's--fine."
Fine. Fine. It was definitely better than fine, and Rogue would probably be able to tell, because get him flustered and he could never seem to shut up.
no subject
Rogue looked over at Steve when he failed at making a proper response at first, and she couldn't hold back a smile at the tumble of words that came out of him afterward. He really did seem a bit... not overwhelmed but certainly flustered with her question, or perhaps with the idea of it. And then it hit her; he liked the idea of her wearing his clothes. Her smile grew into a proper grin and she bit her lower lip as she tried desperately not to giggle and only just succeeded.
She couldn't resist making a gently teasing comment about it, though. "I guess I don't have to worry about leaving pajamas over here if you like the idea that much," she said, giving him a little nudge with her shoulder before taking another bite of sandwich.
no subject
Taking another bite to give himself time to think of a proper response, he finally said, "Usually, I'm the one wearing the hand-me-downs, or I was. It'll be a nice change of pace, at least." He made a show of looking over at her, looking up and down at her, from the disheveled hair, bruises already forming up and down her neck and chest (he inwardly winced at the sight...but also liked it), her dress mostly pulled back into place but obviously rumpled and not quite straight on her... "You're definitely gonna look nicer in them than I ever do." His voice was huskier than he'd intended, but it definitely helped get his message across.
no subject
Lord, she loved the feeling of having his eyes on her. It didn't feel awkward at all, nor like he was judging or measuring her. The look that he gave her was... comforting, because it was Steve. And that husky voice, goodness. "I don't know about that," she commented with a grin, glancing down at her lap.
no subject
Having Rogue around would help get him out of his head some, too, which Steve knew he really needed. He went out and ran in the mornings, and when he was still feeling antsy and cooped up, he went down to the gym, but otherwise, he didn't have a lot to keep himself occupied. He'd walk around and listen to conversations, then search Google for things he'd heard but hadn't understood. Sometimes he got 'lost down the rabbit-hole', as Tony had called it (a phrase he understood, even if the context had been different), searching one thing and finding another, and then another. But after a while even that got tedious, his mind spinning with all the information he'd just learned, and the knowledge that there was still probably 20 times more that he'd never heard about.
But with Rogue there... well, he wasn't sure, but he thought he might feel more settled, having someone else around, and that person being Rogue would just be that much better.
"Trust me," Steve said, with a slow smile, "you really, really will." He still wasn't very good at explicitly stating things, telling her how it made him feel just thinking about her wandering around in his clothes - he got embarrassed just being caught thinking about it, after all. But he hoped eventually, he'd be able to tell her just how stunning she was, and how her in his clothes made him feel. Until then... well, he'd just have to show her.
