Just two vampires, traveling the galaxy... [For Todd the Wraith]
[continued from here]
It was a pleasant surprise to glance over and see Todd asleep on the bed, relaxed and peaceful. He can't have gotten much quality rest the night before propped up in the chair as he had been, certainly not when he'd been woken by her nightmare. She hoped that didn't happen again tonight, he had important things to take care of tomorrow; she didn't know all of the details, but with a civil war going on between his people, he needed his wits about him.
To that end, Rogue forced herself to stay awake for hours into the night, eating the dinner he'd brought for her and looking through one of the books from the collection he'd shown her before their sparring session. She didn't recognize anything on the pages, but it gave her a topic for conversation with the voices in her head, providing ample entertainment to pass the time. Eventually she fell asleep herself, the book held carefully to her chest as she curled up in the armchair, her boots set on the floor beside it. It was a fairly deep sleep, and she didn't dream for one of the first times in many weeks, something she was eternally grateful for when she awoke.

She watched him ready himself with the oil, an almost eagerness to her expression, before taking the jar and adding a little to her own hand and rubbing it onto herself just to be on the cautious side. And then she set the jar aside again, leaning in to kiss him as she wrapped a hand around that hard length and carefully lowered herself onto him. The feeling of him slowly filling her up was like coming home, it felt so incredibly right.
no subject
His hands moved to her thighs, caressing them as she sank down to the hilt, a little breathless as she adjusted and moved around.
Todd growled against her lips, just as eager for more as she.
no subject
She pulled back a little to meet his gaze as she moved, watching his expression and listening for the cues that would tell her what he especially liked.
no subject
He throbbed deep within her as she set a steady rhythm, and rumbled deeply in pleasure, not even considering hiding any noises he made from Rogue.
Licking his lips, Todd pulled her in for a deep kiss, burying his hand in her hair as she had his. When he broke he purred in her ear, "You've already got me so close to the edge..."
no subject
"That's what I like to hear," she murmured, giving another firm tug at his hair. He felt amazing, and it was intoxicating to see how quickly she'd brought him to this state. But she wanted more. Increasing her speed, she reached out to take his feeding hand, bringing his palm to her lips again and watching his expression as she did so.
"Don't hold back," she ordered firmly before stroking the edges of the slit with her lips and tongue the same way she had earlier, hoping for rather explosive results.
no subject
Didn't take much more to reach his climax after a little more teasing on her part.
Todd seized up, arching up into Rogue with a cry and flooding her with his hot seed which leaked out around their joining. He let the blanket go to caress to her thigh again, wanting to move and bring her the same attention but he felt like a limp noodle after such a rush and could hardly lift his head for a long while.
no subject
She lifted herself off of him, trying to minimize the mess as much as possible, and settled in against his side. Practically purring herself in contentment, she slipped an arm around his middle and leaned her cheek on his shoulder.
"You were amazing," she told him softly, stroking her fingers lightly over his ribs. "That was just what I needed." To have someone else to focus on rather than her own worries and fears, to feel like she had just an ounce of control in her life still, even if that control was just in their bed.
no subject
He turned to look at her when she lay beside him. He was sorry to admit he wasn't sure if he'd helped her finish or not, too caught up in his own pleasure. But, he assumed, that if she still needed satisfying, she wouldn't have said that.
Todd chuffed and nodded, "As were you. And, it seems, we both got what we wanted." She'd wanted to be in control, and he wanted to relinquish it. "Though I think you found my weakness" he grinned teasing a claw along her jaw with his feeding hand.
no subject
"Everyone has to have at least one," she informed him. "I promise I won't abuse it too much. Wouldn't want you to get bored of it."
Though she would certainly be utilizing this strategy again. Seeing him limp and satisfied gave her a heady rush she couldn't begin to describe, and there was no way this would be a one-time performance.
no subject
"Give me a moment, Kenny wants a word..." he grunted, sitting up and closing his eyes. First, telling his second off for interrupting things, then asking what he wanted. A few moments later, he opened his eyes and filled Rogue in on their ruined time together.
"Distress signal stopped, meaning it was either destroyed or another hive got to it already. We still have the coordinates so we'll be jumping into hyperspace again in a little while." Todd looked up at black sky overhead. "I'll be glad once we're done and on Atlantis again, then maybe we can enjoy some time under the stars." Wasn't meant to be romantic but, it sort of was. Mostly he was tired of the blue haze.
no subject
If she hadn't spent so many years around telepaths, it might have been a little unnerving for him to basically take a phone call in his head. As it was, she just waited patiently, knowing he'd fill her in, which he did shortly after.
"That would be nice," she agreed, her gaze on the skylight above them as well. "Though it'll be strange not being able to stay with you at night. Especially after all this."
no subject
Still, he was quite sure that the week would pass them by quite quickly. They'd just have to make the most of it and Todd would have to think over how to handle the queen and ensure Rogue stayed on board.
The sky began to shift as the hive was taken out of orbit of the worshiper world and turned before the blue haze replaced the black.
no subject
"A whole week," she murmured, snuggling in against him as they shifted into hyperspace. "Whatever will we do to pass the time?"
She could think of a few ideas...
no subject
Todd had come up with some compelling reasons to keep his favorite human-mutant on board but in the end, Rogue's ability was what the queen would be hung up on and call into question whether she was safe or not. So there was nothing more he could do until he met her.
All too soon it seemed, they were dropping out of hyperspace again, though still about half an hour's distance from the actual coordinates. This would allow them to communicate with whomever was here without instantly getting caught up in an ambush. The commander let Rogue on the bridge, as leaving her in his chambers and relaying information back to her would be too much of a bother, and too stressful on her waiting there the whole time. A few tense moments passed as they waited for the other two hives sitting out there to respond. Finally, one did, the one who'd arrived first to inspect the signal. The hive's commander answered the call.
"What's the story with the missing ship?" Todd asked, getting right down to it.
"One survivor. The queen's daughter." the other commander grunted. "She's in poor shape but we've already told her of your plight and she's agreed to accept the position of queen on your ship should you still be without one. Our own queen wants her gone so if you should reject her then you must carry her to another hive in need."
"We're without one, and we'll receive her. We'll be within pick-up distance in a little while." Todd replied, a sort of nervous excitement rippled through those wraith on the bridge.
The other commander grunted again and terminated communications. Todd turned to the helmsman and had him steer them on towards the hives. The commander then sent a mental message throughout his crew for all non-essential personal to head for the throne room while he, Rogue, and two other wraith headed for the ship's bay. By the time they reached the bay, they'd arrived at the coordinates and Todd approved the order to let the scout ship inside. Once the chamber had re-pressurized, the four of them entered and went to greet the queen's ship on the catwalk.
The ramp lowered and they their first look at their new queen. Surprise was quickly forced down. She felt her way down the ramp, holding her tattered skirts up to avoid tripping on the shreds of them and when she looked at the group, she wasn't seeing them. Her eyes were entirely black, giving her the first impression that she had none. Her clothes were worn, blood-stained, and rather shabby and there was an ugly scar across her throat.
Still, despite her impoverished look, she held herself with dignity, her long red hair fell to her elbows, curling at the ends, held partially back from her face by what looked like a strip from her dress. While wraith's physical age mostly stopped after maturity, like Cody, it was fairly easy to see she was as young a Rogue was, perhaps a little younger still.
"I'm the commander. Welcome to my ship." Todd said, inclining his head, the other wraith doing the same.
She turned to look towards him, though her gaze was about a foot over his shoulder. "I understand you are without a queen. Therefore I'll lay claim to your hive as mine." her voice was hoarse, as though she'd not spoken in some time, or perhaps still on the mend from the wound across her neck.
"We accept." Todd said then strode forward and held out his arm to her. "And your story is one we'd all like to hear, my Queen."
She hesitated taking her hand from the ramp railing, turning her blind eyes to Rogue. "You have a human on board? Is she for me?"
In the fuss over trying to think about reasons to keep Rogue on board, Todd had all but forgotten the fact that the queens were still feeding on humans, as they had yet to test the gene therapy upon one. Fear began to flood him. Perhaps she would insist upon feeding on Rogue. "No my queen, she's here by remarkable circumstances, and a partial ambassador to Atlantis." Todd answered, skirting the razor's edge of truth.
"Then I'll need to go into hibernation as soon as possible until a human to feed me is acquired." she said. "I have not fed in some time..." she trailed off, quite frail indeed as she took Todd's arm without further delay. "But yes, let me address the crew."

But when she saw the young queen, a little of that fear faded, replaced by sympathy. It was clear that the woman had been through something terrible, a plight which Rogue could understand all too well. The terror returned full force when it seemed that she might be on the dinner menu, though - she'd forgotten as well that queens were still on a strictly human diet. But to go into hibernation, to have to wait like this for who knew how long... And feeding on a human would mean that human dying. She couldn't allow that when there might be another option. But she had to tread carefully, make sure she gave the right impression to this young queen who held Rogue's future in her hands.
"Commander," she said in a low voice, trying to show Todd the respect he deserved and the queen would expect, "I think I might be able to help in this situation, if you and your queen will allow it. When we first met, you fed on me to heal - if I were to borrow a little energy from someone, I believe it would be possible for the queen to do the same."
It was an untested theory, of course. Though she'd offered a number of times, Todd had never fed on her after their run-in on that planet. But with everything that was at stake, Rogue was willing to take the risk, fully understanding what would happen if she was wrong.
no subject
"What's this?" the queen said, brow furrowing. "Borrow energy?...What sort of human are you?"
"She's...an extraordinary one." Todd butted in.
"She isn't like that troublesome hybrid from some years back is she?" the queen said.
"No my queen, she has no Wraith in her whatsoever I assure you." he said.
"...Explain then."
Todd glanced to Rogue again. If she'd kept quiet they might not have to have had dealt with her exile until they reached Atlantis. But there was no stopping it now it seemed. He launched into a quick tale of how he and Rogue met. The crash, where she came from, her ability, and now her ability to control it. As they were expected in the throne room he cut out the details but he assured her he'd fill her in on them later on.
The queen listened without comment. Eventually she said to Rogue, "My new commander seems to think highly of you...Rogue. But as tempting as the offer is to try this method, I am very weak, and the temptation to take more than what you offer is great. And there's the possibility you might lose control and attack me." she turned to Todd. "I will wait for an actual human. We are wanted in the throne room."
The commander was glad the queen was more clever than he'd originally given her credit for. Not only for Rogue's sake but as well as her own. He threw his human a pointed look to not to offer herself like that again...or speak at all unless spoken to.
As they headed down to the throne room, he now had to come up with a way to get hold of a human for the queen to feed on, possibly more than one as she seemed to have sustained her injuries for some time. Atlantis wouldn't like it, but they already knew the queens were still on their original diet. Once she took the gene therapy-if it worked-she'd not need to feed again, and he very much doubted she'd want to live blind and scarred like this forever more. Once they were on their way again, they'd be passing a planet with a Stargate in orbit, and he got an idea of how to feed his new queen.

It became quickly apparent the conditions under which she would be living if she were allowed to stay on the hive. Having never dealt with a queen before, it had only been a distant notion of what to expect years from now when Todd might find a queen. But this, now... She didn't know how she'd felt about it. This sort of hierarchy of power was so far removed from everything Rogue had ever known, more militaristic than anything, and she was beginning to doubt whether she could live in it even if she were allowed to stay.
The idea was heartbreaking.
Rogue accepted the look from Todd and resolved to keep her head down and remain silent as ordered. She had no status on the hive now, being just another humam - though still not one meant to be fed on. She followed behind the group, keeping pace with the other wraith who accompanied them, trying not to draw any further attention to herself.

The walk to the throne room seemed very slow and long but he didn't rush the new female, and they got there eventually, greeted by all but those who remained on the bridge to keep an eye on things. And the drones of course, which Todd told her were all in hibernation to keep starvation at bay.
Clawed fingers sought out the throne and the new queen sat upon it, and began her tale to her new crew.
About a week before the hive went missing, they got into a battle with another hive from those who were against taking the gene therapy. The battle was intense and lasted nearly an hour before her hive managed to take out and blow up the other. But theirs was severely crippled and on the edge of the galaxy, hyper-drive completely destroyed. Their queen was killed when shrapnel struck her, thus putting her daughter in charge.
So few of the crew were left after the battle but they worked furiously to repair it, cannibalizing other systems where necessary, using sub-lights to at least move to a populated planet to feed. The Stargate on the planet was their way to tell the other hives of their problem, but before they could reach it they were ambushed by Genii who'd gone into hiding but couldn't resist taking out some Wraith.
The new queen was injured and the Genii found themselves lucky to get her. They took her back to their base and tortured her for information. Cutting her throat and even removing her eyes and some fingers. All of which had grown back but her sight was still gone. After a month under their boot, she managed to escape, feeding on and killing as many as she could before making her way back to the scout ship parked on the planet, and then back to her hive. Blind, she worked as best she could, alone. Fortunately much of Wraith technology was worked by touch and mind than by sight. It was some time before she managed to get the hyper-drive working to putter on to the coordinates of the last rendezvous site she could think of.
The distress beacon was activated and, without sustenance, she didn't know when or if she'd be picked up so she went into hibernation, until they found her.

Even if the queen's story was completely true, that sort of experience took a great toll on people. She'd been alone for so long, and wraith did not do well in solitude. And after the torture she'd endured... It might have been different if she'd been able to heal, but there was no telling yet how having to live with her injuries for a lengthy time might have affected her mental state.
And if her story was only partially based in truth, there was even more to worry about. The queen was young and did not have the endurance of a wraith even half Todd's age. If she had been held captive by any group for a lengthier time than she'd said, there was a chance that she'd been manipulated in some way. It wasn't uncommon to try to 'turn' prisoners through pain and brainwashing tactics, and such a young queen would be perfect for such things.
But Rogue was in no position to voice any of these concerns. If she was given the chance later to be alone with Todd, she might broach the subject, but it was difficult to say whether her wariness would be accepted. She knew how Todd had been before the queen's arrival, but now that he'd seen her current state... Well, a lot of things had changed, she would just have to wait to see how much.
no subject
After her tale, she ordered to have her former hive destroyed. Even if given a decade to regenerate, it would never be battle-ready again. She then ordered her new crew to go about their duties and Todd agreed, though first...
"I think I know where to get you some sustenance." he said then looked to the nearest wraith. "After destroying the hive, pass on the order to head to the nearest Genii hideout, you'll find several coordinates in our database for such times like these." he grinned, and the other wraith nodded and inclined his head to his new queen before hurrying off.
The queen turned to her commander, "Is that wise?...How did you even find such locations?" she said, narrowing her eyes.
"I...liberated them from the Atlantis database not long ago." he grinned "They've done wrong by me as well, my queen. I have no qualms about taking a few Genii to replenish your health before going into hibernation. And Atlantis doesn't seem to be in alliance with them anymore. The galaxy will not miss a few Genii, and my crew are well and healthy thanks to Rogue here." Todd said, nodding to the mutant.
The queen relaxed. "Good. You may send your crew away so that we may talk as three."
Todd did as he was ordered, the rest of the crew going back to work, leaving just the queen, commander, and sort-of-human alone in the chamber. A quiet settled on them before the queen spoke again, this time addressing Rogue. "From what I gather from my commander's mind, you are a strong one. Worthy of a throne yourself if you were wraith." Todd smiled, glancing to Rogue. "Your ability is an incredible one, as is your story. I may be blind, but I'm no fool, I know my commander and the crew have grown quite attached to you, and exiling you out would not sit well with any of them, especially since you're his mate."
Todd stiffened, listening to his new queen's final verdict on keeping or kicking Rogue out.
"You may remain on board."

Being alone with Todd and his new queen was one of the most intimidating experiences of her life. This young female was about to decide her future, and at the start of the 'conversation' Rogue had no idea which way the axe would fall. Things certainly started off well, with the praise Todd had given her, and then the queen's acknowledgement of the position Rogue had held thus far on the hive.
But then the decision was made and she had to remember how to breathe again.
"Thank you," she said to the queen, real gratitude in her voice. "If I may, you are incredibly strong yourself for having survived what you did. It's an honor to be allowed to stay on your ship." She paused for a moment, then decided to continue while the opportunity had presented itself, hoping that she wasn't ruining things by speaking too much. "And I would like to assure you that my loyalty truly is to this hive - its crew, the Commander, and yourself."
no subject
Todd escorted Rogue out into the corridor and, out of sight of his new queen, pressed his forehead to Rogue's own. "You troublemaker." he whispered with a grin.
no subject
"It's not the first time I've been called that," she whispered in return, giving him a small smile. She set a hand on his chest, enjoying that closeness for another moment, then gave him a gentle shove backward. "Go on, your queen's waiting. I'm not going anywhere."
no subject
He returned to his new queen's side and he talked about what had happened in the two year span she'd been out of touch. The gene therapy had been perfected for all the males and they were in the process of getting it done for the drones next. The worshiper/farming world's progress, how many were now in the alliance, which had doubled since her mother had joined. And everything she asked about.
She, in turn, told him of her time with the Genii, and before that, he time on board the hive with her queen and her kin.
In the meantime, the hive steered towards the nearest Genii outpost, and, after approval from queen and commander, three darts ventured down to scoop up as many of the humans they could to feed their new queen.
no subject
As the minutes passed, she contemplated asking one of the crew to guide her to the part of the ship she was familiar with, but after she'd made the decision to do so, none happened by. Which was typical of the universe, really.
