Just two vampires, traveling the galaxy... [For Todd the Wraith]
[continued from here]
It was a pleasant surprise to glance over and see Todd asleep on the bed, relaxed and peaceful. He can't have gotten much quality rest the night before propped up in the chair as he had been, certainly not when he'd been woken by her nightmare. She hoped that didn't happen again tonight, he had important things to take care of tomorrow; she didn't know all of the details, but with a civil war going on between his people, he needed his wits about him.
To that end, Rogue forced herself to stay awake for hours into the night, eating the dinner he'd brought for her and looking through one of the books from the collection he'd shown her before their sparring session. She didn't recognize anything on the pages, but it gave her a topic for conversation with the voices in her head, providing ample entertainment to pass the time. Eventually she fell asleep herself, the book held carefully to her chest as she curled up in the armchair, her boots set on the floor beside it. It was a fairly deep sleep, and she didn't dream for one of the first times in many weeks, something she was eternally grateful for when she awoke.

"I'm glad," she returned with her own smile before leaning down to press a kiss to his forehead. "I think I'll go back to bed now, unless you'd like me to keep you company."

Eventually he did rejoin her in bed to try and see if sleep would come to him at all. Not even a wink, and soon his crew were calling him away to his duties and he left her alone.
He was away from his chambers for most of the day, busy conversing with those also suffering insomnia as well as working on the list of wants they intended to put forward to Atlantis for the hive. They eventually found that the list was far too long and even if they did get even half of them approved, the power requirements calculated were too large to be handled.
So they reduced the list down to a select key upgrades that the hive could handle with its current power, and then a second slightly longer list of upgrades that could be accomplished if Naquadah generators were installed. ZPMs were out of the question unless they managed to acquire them themselves, and even then, they'd become a target for Atlantis to keep an ever-watchful eye on. But the generators would be enough to handle the upgrades while ensuring that the hive could not reach the Milky Way Galaxy within a Wraith's lifetime.
Cody was not part of the discussions and Todd had sent him to his chambers to see if Rogue was in need of anything as it was likely he'd not see her until dinner.

Walking more of the hallways was really how she should spend the day, she knew, but she just didn't feel like it. She was worried about Todd and the others and wanted to work it out on her own. Not that she didn't enjoy Cody's company, he was one of her favorites after, but she didn't think that her own company would be very pleasant. So she sent Cody off with her thanks and dressed for a run. Physical exercise helped her focus, and she ran until her legs wobbled and she couldn't possibly go another lap.
After she'd worn herself out, she'd changed again and put her workout clothes away for cleaning while she continued her study of the wraith language. It wasn't until dinnertime that she put her books away and went off to the kitchen, hoping the modified menu they'd come up with would work as well as they'd planned. They didn't need sleep-deprived hungry wraith on their hands, after all.

The fresh fruit was long gone, just the frozen quantities, which they had yet to find a large use for. No blenders so smoothies were not an option at the moment. Todd's creativeness for meals was dry, too occupied due to everything that had been done today. So he looked to Rogue for options.

They were running out of their most versatile ingredients, though, and if Atlantis wasn't able to resupply them with some things, life was going to get rather tricky on the trip back. As always, though, she'd do everything she could to keep the crew healthy and well-fed. She just wished there was something she could do to help with the insomnia issue.

Despite the thinning ingredients, everyone went back to their quarters or posts afterwards with full stomachs.
Todd and Rogue left the cleaning crew to do their part and headed back to his chambers. Sparring might have been an option but unlike fighting after feeding on a human, having everything slosh around in a fight was potentially a bad idea.
After the busy day coupled with lack of proper rest, the commander pretty much made a beeline for the shower when they returned.

Following Todd into the bathroom, she frowned for a moment, her concern returning full-force now that they were alone again. "You're exhausted," she observed, pointing out the completely obvious. "What can I do to help you relax?" She had some ideas of her own, of course, but if there was something in particular that he thought might help, she wanted to hear it.

He looked from the shower area to the tub and decided an actual bath might help more than the new shower. "Join me?" he requested, turning the faucet on and letting the tub fill as he worked his clothes off. He had to admit, sex might help him relax more, but for now, the bath would suffice.
no subject
"Of course," she agreed without hesitation, even moving to help him by taking his clothes and hanging them in the closet to be cleaned. "You know I can never say no to a bath with my favorite person in the whole galaxy." Her own clothes were next, the motions automatic and not taking any thought - how many times had they done this now?

Leaving the hair decors in, he slid into the hot water with an audible noise of contentment. As convenient and water-saving as showers were, he much preferred this way.
He sank down up to his nose, letting the steam from the hot water fill his sensory pits and clear his head a bit. He sat up again when Rogue joined him, beard dripping, the fog in his mind a bit less so, though it was hard to tell if that was because he had little to think about at the moment or because of the water.
no subject
The dripping of his beard brought out a grin and a small giggle as she slid closer to him. "How about a shoulder massage?" she suggested as she reached up with a hand to smooth a stray bit of hair back from his face. "Then I can wash your back."
no subject
After a moment however, his fingers caressed along her skin, over scars and the occasional freckle.
"How about something a bit more...intimate?" he asked
no subject
"Why, Commander, I do like the way you think," she practically purred. And it certainly would do the job of helping him relax, which was her goal for the evening. He had to get some sleep that night, and she'd do everything she could to make sure that happened.

It'd been a little while since they'd had such time together, and now that he thought of it, stealing away for a moment after they reached Atlantis would be difficult. He wondered if they'd re-install the cameras in the rooms as the queen was a very high security risk to them. If eyes were going to be more closely on them, they might only get time to themselves if they were to shuttle back to the hive.
no subject
She'd had the same sort of thoughts about Atlantis, knowing that his free time would be extremely limited and their options of places to be together without prying eyes would be rather slim. It was another thing she would greatly miss while they were in the city, but her focus for the moment was entirely on their present encounter. Not breaking the kiss, she raised up onto her knees and slid her hands up to his shoulders, using him as an anchor as she moved to straddle his lap. It got her that much closer to him, and she knew he enjoyed it when she took that position.
no subject
Todd pulled her closer still, breaking the kiss at last to suckle her throat, a low rumble of pleasure bubbling from him. His mind drifted from everything but Rogue, if any of his underlings tried to contact him, they'd likely leave him be, knowing he was...occupied.
His feeding hand came around and he cupped a breast, teasing the nipple and massaging the mound after.

"I hope you know, you've ruined me for anyone else," she murmured into his ear. "You're too damn good at this, no one else would ever be able to compare for me."
no subject
Todd slid his hand to her thigh, caressing the muscle and teasing the inside. "I could be comparatively the worst on board at this." he pointed out.
no subject
"If that's the case, then it's better for you if I don't find out," she retorted playfully, rubbing the tip of her nose against his before pressing a kiss to his cheek, followed by another to his jaw. "You might never get me back in your bed. Though, I suppose if there is that chance, then it's worth investigating..."
Not that she had any real intention of doing so. He could present her with concrete proof that someone on his crew was a better lover and she wouldn't even consider being with them over Todd.
no subject
"Then I'll be content knowing you're getting the best" he pointed out.
True, he'd miss her in his bed, but the sex wasn't the only thing he liked about her.
no subject
The sex was amazing, but as with him, it wasn't the only thing she enjoyed about being with him. He had a wonderfully unique sense of humor, and a perspective on things that made her think. He was easy to be with no matter the circumstance, and she trusted him in absolutely everything. Not to mention how much she loved fighting with him, loved to be in the kitchen with him, loved their time spent reading...
She loved him.
Not in the traditional sense, not in the way she'd loved Remy. The love she felt for Todd was more than that for a close friend, but not as madly passionate as the affection she'd held for her dear swamp rat. What did hold passion was her loyalty and devotion to the wraith, which in some ways was stronger than pure romantic love that could so easily fade. She loved Todd, but she wasn't in love with him - a fine but very important distinction.
no subject
It was best she not mention so to him. The wraith were just starting to learn compassion. Throwing love, in any of its forms, into the mix would be too strange.
Todd resumed kissing and caressing Rogue, pulling her close as possible to him.
no subject
She returned those kisses with an eager intensity, smoothing her hands along his wet shoulders and back, occasionally raking her nails across that skin that she would never tire of exploring.

As the water and she heated his blood, the hand on her thigh moved inward to tease her folds, his own arousal resting against her other thigh. He wanted her as many times as she'd let him have her tonight.
no subject
A shiver ran through her when he began his teasing. Two could play at that game. Slipping a hand down between them, she encircled his swollen member with her fingers, unable to stop a smile at the proof of just how ready he was for this. His formidable stamina had already been proven on numerous occasions, and she was more than willing to enjoy it to its fullest that night as well.
