Rogue had never been very good at letting other people take care of her. That was always her role, making sure people had what they needed and helping wherever she could. She'd never wanted to seem like she was the one who needed something, because then she might seem to be a burden. Part of her worried about that with Steve, despite everything he'd told her and the ways he'd shown his love. It was just going to take a lot of time and effort to get her to really accept and understand that he didn't see her that way and wanted to do these things for her.

"Okay," she agreed, wishing she had the energy to smile for him. Maybe when he got back, she'd be able to manage it. A smile, and a proper thank you, that's what he deserved. And another apology for this whole mess.
