Rogue glanced up and rolled her eyes in frustrated amusement. "Blasted plant, causes nothing but trouble," she muttered before smirking at him. "You're right though, I would've punched ya."
It felt good to smile, to have a reason for it. Her life wasn't the worst there ever was, but nothing had been quite the same in the years since her mutation manifested. There was always a dark cloud hanging over her as she worried about hurting the people she'd come to care for, especially those who were close enough for her to call family. It was hard to be carefree and happy when a little sleep could mean life or death for one of her friends, or worse yet one of the children.
