"I know that humans are capable of loyalty," she informed him, her tone strong and intense but lacking the anger from earlier. "And compassion, and trust. I worked with humans in the war, good people who had my back. They gave their lives to protect us, to give us another day of freedom."
Tears stung at her eyes and she finally realized herself that there was something else at the root of her unease in Atlantis, in addition to the innate fear and mistrust. "I've lost too many people." Everyone she'd ever known now. "I can't lose anyone else."
