Much better safe than sorry, considering the city's defenses against contagion. She'd heard about the first time it had happened from Sheppard, including the various escapades of everyone trying to figure out what the hell was going on. Rogue had made sure to act sufficiently impressed at the way the colonel had scaled the side of the city to reach the control room.

All of Beckett's questions were answered with as much thoroughness as possible, and she was incredibly glad that Todd wasn't there to find out how extensive her condition was - she really had been attributing the headaches to stress and fatigue, and hiding her discomfort as much as possible so she didn't add to all of the things on his mind, especially since the arrival of the queen and the onset of his insomnia.

As soon as they arrived at their destination, Beckett began running tests, starting from the ground up and checking for all known major diseases that could cause the symptoms she'd been experiencing. When the results came back negative, he began pursuing other possibilities, including more common human ailments that weren't contagious.
