He listened quietly to what she said, and while she was free to take another mate as she pleased, it seemed she preferred him above all. He just hoped she'd understand, when the time came, that his devotion would be split between her and the queen. Though he supposed the worst that could happen would be ending up in a braid war.

When she finished, he opened his eyes and lifted a hand to his hair, feeling the new work, and the returned large braid. He looked up at her with a smile. "I like it" he grinned.
