The last few years of her life had been spent avoiding a cruel end, but at least she'd been in her world, where she had tools and skills at her disposal. Here? She wouldn't stand much of a chance if an angry mob got hold of her.

Rogue's attention focused on the deer as well, marveling at the creature and its blatant display of life. The wildlife on her Earth had become scarce as the war went on, retreating to the areas that were completely removed from any trace of civilization. To see a deer here, now, seemed like a miracle, even if it really wasn't.
