That 'little reminder' hadn't exactly been his best idea ever. With every word, Rogue found herself growing more agitated with him, stress and fatigue eating away at her nerves until she was just angry and upset with him for the way he was speaking to her and the fact that he didn't understand anything. Not one bit.
"Thank you for that brilliant suggestion," she said with no small measure of sarcasm as they stepped inside, waiting until the door closed to really let loose.
"Don't speak to me like I'm some silly, love-struck child who can't handle not having your full and undivided attention," she practically growled at him, her southern temper flaring to life. "I know she's young, and she's going to need you a hell of a lot more than I do. She's been through hell and there is no one on this ship better able to help her find her way than you. I get that, and I want things to be the best they can be between the two of you, because it's what you both need."
