Steve made his voice gentle, coaxing, but didn't make any move, toward Rogue or anywhere else, recognizing the wild, frantic look on her face. "Rogue. Marie. I need you to relax." She was breathing too fast, and Steve really wouldn't know what to do if she hyperventilated and fainted while panicking.
Not knowing what else to do to pull her out of her head, Steve─ started singing.
He didn't have a high, clear voice, but he pitched it up as far as he was comfortable with, letting the words flow over his tongue on instinct, barely paying attention to what he was singing.
