Looking over at her, Steve's smile morphed into something softer, more innocent, but no less bright. He knew she wasn't really hungry, she'd already said, so her agreeing to even just split a cupcake was a victory for him. Maybe he'd 'decide' to have 'just one more' before going on his run. Just to get her to eat a little more.
Finishing the last slice of watermelon, the last thing left on his plate, Steve washed the taste down with a gulp of water, before holding up a finger. "Hold that thought, please," he teased, getting up and grabbing the box with the last several cupcakes and sitting back down.
Opening the lid, he considered them with a serious expression, hamming it up a little for Rogue's benefit. He loved watching her smile, hearing her laugh, and it was even better when he was the direct cause. Finally, he glanced at Rogue. "Any suggestions which one I should try next? They all look amazing."
