Wow was a very good thing. Steve appreciated the effort she'd put into the whole affair, but he would've been just as happy if she'd bought cupcakes from the supermarket; for him, it was all about the company, not the food. (The food was delicious, though.)

Steve grinned as he watched her, listened to her giggle and genuinely enjoy herself. He leaned over to kiss her, tasting sugary sweet and amazing. Pulling back with one final peck, he told her, "That's fantastic." He did mean the cupcake, but he also meant her. She was a delight, and he was never going to get tired of being with her.
