If and when Steve did question why she was with him, Rogue would really lay into him for it. She didn't care about his level of education, or that he didn't have a typical career - those things weren't of importance to her. The fact that he was strong of character and kind, that he had a good sense of humor... those were important.

Rogue looked over at Steve when he failed at making a proper response at first, and she couldn't hold back a smile at the tumble of words that came out of him afterward. He really did seem a bit... not overwhelmed but certainly flustered with her question, or perhaps with the idea of it. And then it hit her; he liked the idea of her wearing his clothes. Her smile grew into a proper grin and she bit her lower lip as she tried desperately not to giggle and only just succeeded.

She couldn't resist making a gently teasing comment about it, though. "I guess I don't have to worry about leaving pajamas over here if you like the idea that much," she said, giving him a little nudge with her shoulder before taking another bite of sandwich.
