Glad that she was laughing at the state of themselves, Steve grinned as he shifted, lifting his hips up enough to at least tug his slacks up where they belonged. He grimaced a little as certain parts of his body stuck a little to the material; clean-up would definitely be required soon, but he didn't want to discourage Rogue from eating, so he decided to wait on that. "We had fun getting that way, though," he told her with a boyish grin, one that hinted at how mischievous he could be, and what a handful he'd been for his mother. "And that's all that really matters, anyway."

Reaching out, he picked up a couple sandwiches; pastrami with mustard for himself, and roast beef with butter for Rogue, and handed that one to her. If she wasn't really used to eating, he wasn't sure if strongly-flavored foods would be something she'd want to eat, especially if she didn't feel like eating now. He'd just started making the sandwiches earlier, hadn't even thought to ask her for any preferences - not that he had a lot to choose from, anyway. He'd have to speak up next time, ask her what she wanted. He really wasn't doing all that well with the little, every-day things required for a, a couple.

But he knew eventually, he wouldn't have to ask her, he'd already know what she preferred eating, what she liked to do... It was a learning curve, just like the rest of the affair. He just hated having to play catch-up; he wanted to already know.
