It was going to be a long time before Rogue stopped being self-conscious about her scars, but Steve's attitude toward them was helping a great deal already. The way he didn't even really acknowledge them but instead saw them as an accepted part of her was something she'd never stop being grateful for. And then his suggestion about the cardigan had her turning to look at him with an almost confused awe, watching as he made a face at his shoes. He really didn't care about the tattoo on her arm that represented such terrible things.

"We need to get you some summer shoes," she announced, slipping on her own white flats with ease. "Things you can slip on easy for when you need to run down to the corner store for milk or something."
