While Steve understood that just because it was homemade didn't automatically make it taste better than store bought (he'd known a few people who couldn't cook to save their life, and that had been back when cooking had been a more common skill set), he believed that Rogue's cupcakes would taste fine, if not delicious. He was never one to pass up free food, anyway. He hadn't exactly developed a sweet tooth after the serum, but he enjoyed sugar, and especially chocolate, and would never pass it up; they had that in common.

Steve wasn't one to just grab something, even if it was for him, so he waited for Rogue to get the cake out. She'd made it, it didn't even occur to him to not let her present it. In the meantime, he continued the playful banter. Feigning shock, his jaw dropped, and he placed a dramatic hand to his chest. "Well! I see common courtesy isn't as dead as I was beginning to believe. That's a relief."
