At her comment about being 'a bit faster,' Steve couldn't help but wince a little. "Yeah, I..." he sighed. "I always have to watch how fast I run, so I don't draw attention to myself. I can never really let loose." It was an adjustment he'd found himself dealing with more and more, lately; being Captain America where everyone considered him a celebrity, and not a soldier trying to do a job. Because he didn't really have a job, at the moment. Hiding who he was wasn't in his nature, and it was a struggle remembering that while he wasn't a sick, scrawny guy anymore, he couldn't just do whatever he wanted, for fear someone would realize he was too strong and too fast to be an ordinary guy, even one who looked like he was serious about weight training.

Reaching over with his free hand, he placed it on top of Rogue's on his arm, squeezing gently and smiling at her. "You'll have to show me some martial arts. I never really learned any formal combat before I started fighting, and it wasn't..." he shrugged. "It wasn't as widespread as it is today. Not that I plan on having to use it," he explained, "but you never know, and..."

This was the part he'd struggled with, ever since he'd woken up, and even more since the Battle was over. "I was literally created to fight. Running is great for working off energy," at least, it was if he could really let himself run, "but sometimes I just want to do more."
